Jin Shin Do® which means "The Way of the Compassionate Spirit" is a synthesis of
traditional Japanese finger pressure, classical Chinese acupuncture
theory, Taoist philosophy & Western bodymind theories.
It is
safe, gentle and the deep finger pressure on combinations of specific acu-points
and energy meridians is used in combination with simple body-focusing
techniques to release physical and emotional stress and pain.
Jin Shin Do® is based on the theory that vital energy flows through specific
pathways in the body. When the pathways are blocked or imbalanced, this
leads to pain and dis-ease. Acupressure is a method/technique to access,
release and balance this energy flow in the body.
Jin Shin Do® makes unique use of the Extraordinary Vessels/Strange Flows.
These channels of reserve energy are used as a shortcut to nourish and
balance all the organ meridians. Like Zen Shiatsu, Jin Shin Do® also uses
the oriental Five Element Theory to balance the flow of energy through the
12 organ meridians.
In
contrast to Shiatsu, it is slower-paced and focuses on specific point
combinations for the deep release of muscular armoring. The benefits of a Jin Shin Do® session help
to maintain or restore a balanced state of physical & emotional health.
